Radiation Therapist
*Job Summary:*** **Coordinates the patient flow and provides therapeutic treatment to adult and pediatric patients in a fast paced environment. ****
*Duties to include, but not limited to: *
? Rotate on linear accelerators to treat patients
? Implements a treatment action plan
? Patient referrals to other care providers such as nursing, social work or nutrition services
? Works with radiation oncologist, physicists and dosimetrists to compensate for treatment accuracy.
? Performs routine QC testing of CT equipment and linear accelerators
? Participation in decision s about appropriate simulation techniques and treatment positions.
? Patient education
? Cover doing simulations for time off.
? May train for other new modalities- ex: HDR
? Position requires participation in rotation for weekends, holidays and call
*Education/Experience/Registration requirements: *
? Graduate of CAHEA approved school of radiation oncology
? Registered by ARRT **required.**
? Experience with Mosaiq record and verify system
? Experience with Varian accelerators beneficial

* Good time management and problem solving skills
* Effective communication skills
* Customer service skills
* Ability to work in a fast paced department with variety of procedures happening simultaneously.
* Must be able to multitask in an environment with many things happening.
*Physical Requirements*: Visual acuity, standing or walking 95% of day, 5 % sitting while checking charts or scheduling. Lifting/pulling/ reaching. Computer work.
